A quiet meeting room on an upper floor overlooking a marina

Admiralty and yacht solicitors since 1979 · Southampton and Palma

Most of this
is avoidable.

Solicitors acting for owners, managers, yards and insurers on purchase and registration, refit overruns, crew employment, casualty work and charter contracts. Nine of us, all of whom have read a build contract before.

  • Fixed fee on purchase and registration
  • Casualty line answered out of hours
  • No referral fees taken or paid

What we do

Where owners usually need us

How we work

The awkward parts, stated at the outset

01

We will tell you a claim is not worth pursuing

Sometimes the recoverable sum is smaller than the cost of recovering it. We would rather say so in the first meeting than bill you for eighteen months of arriving at the same place.

02

Fixed fees on work that usually runs on the clock

Purchase, registration and a set of crew agreements are quoted as a single figure, not an hourly rate inside a range. If the file takes longer than we judged, that is our problem and not your invoice.

03

We say so when the other side is right

A point conceded in April is far cheaper than the same point conceded at a hearing in November. It shortens the file, it reduces what we can charge for it, and it remains the correct advice.

04

We hand files on and take nothing for it

A tax question in a jurisdiction we do not practise in goes to someone who does. We take no referral fee and pay none, and we do not keep work in-house to justify what it costs you.

Two solicitors reviewing a contract across a table

“The yard's final account came to £412,000 against an estimate of £268,000. They went through the variation orders, found eleven that nobody had signed, and settled it in nine weeks without an arbitration. I had been told to expect two years of it.”

About this page

Everything above is a demonstration

The business, the listings and the reviews are invented — this page exists to show what someone could put on marine-lawyers.com. The domain itself is genuinely for sale.

Domain for sale

marine-lawyers.com is available

You are looking at a demonstration, not a real business. We built it to show what this domain could carry — the company, the stock and the reviews are invented.

  1. 1

    Make an enquiry

Tell us who you are and what you would use it for. It costs nothing and puts you under no obligation.

  2. 2

    Agree a price

We reply with a price or consider your offer. Most conversations are settled within a couple of working days.

  3. 3

    Pay into escrow

Funds go to a licensed third-party escrow agent, never straight to us. They hold the money until the transfer is confirmed.

  4. 4

    Take ownership

We push the authorisation code to your registrar. You control the domain, usually within a week; escrow then releases the funds.

The demonstration site is not part of the sale by default — but if you want it, say so in your enquiry and we will include the source.
